Introduction

SILENCIO, a design studio focused on digital visual languages, realized that their visual identity did not reflect their technical and creative capabilities. They decided to create a website that would serve as a manifesto of their vision of design's role in the contemporary context.

Digital Products Concept & Storytelling

SILENCIO questioned whether they belonged to the category of digital products and created a reality halfway between the tangible and the intangible, allowing them to belong to the category in a disruptive and innovative manner. Their website features an immersive storytelling approach around the virtual purchasing process of their digital products.

Design & Aesthetic

The concept of the website itself influenced the design and aesthetic. SILENCIO generated a visual mood based on the overall appearance of any supermarket product. They used symbols, barcodes, and nutritional tables and adopted the language typically used in supermarket products. All the products were created in 3D and rendered in webGL to achieve a smoother and more immersive experience.

WebGL Process

SILENCIO used Three.js for their 3D rendering and DRACO compressed models to help reduce loading times.
