Visual Studio 17.8 now available!

Visual Studio 17.8 has been released and includes several new features and enhancements. Here are some of the highlights:

  • GitHub Copilot is now available as an optional component, making it easier to install alongside Visual Studio.
  • A new "Create a Pull Request" feature allows you to quickly create a pull request from the Git Changes window.
  • The Find and Replace function now has a "Preserve case" option, allowing you to toggle case preservation in the Replace window.
  • The Multi-Repo limit has been increased, allowing for more repositories to be included in a single solution.
  • A new Summary Diff view has been added, making it easier to focus on the changes in your code.
  • Remote Linux Unit Test Support has been added, allowing you to run unit tests on a remote Linux machine.
  • The C++ Game Dev experience has been improved with enhancements such as CMake Targets View improvements and size and alignment hints for C++ classes.
  • The Teams Toolkit now includes new options for creating apps for Microsoft Teams.
  • Various enhancements have been made to the C# and .NET development experience, including improvements to the Debugging and Diagnostics tools and new IntelliTest features.
  • The SQL Server Data Tools have been upgraded to MDS 5.0, and other improvements have been made.
